Summary of Learning

This final blog is a wrap up of what I have learned from my adventure with technology this semester. I had the opportunity to learn about the different aspects of instructional technology such as sharing, open learning networks, blended learning, and TPACK. But I also got to learn about different technology tools to use in the classroom from reading my classmates reviews on their chosen cool tools. I have created a summary of learning presentation using one of my cool tools Emaze to share with you what I have taken away from each topic that we have discussed in class.

Doing this culminating activity allowed me to reflect on everything that we have went over in class for this semester and allowed me to become more comfortable with branching out to use different presentation tools other than PowerPoint. After this course I plan on incorporating technology into my classroom for assessment using tools such as Kahoot or Plickers. I also plan on becoming more comfortable using Google apps because those will be the most accessible tool to use in a classroom because both students and teachers can use them. They provide immediate feedback/results. I also plan on keeping my PLN to provide me with support and give me places to go when I an struggling to find ideas. The final thing that I will take away with me would be trying to incorporate blended learning, although it takes time to create I think that once it is created, classrooms will run very smoothly.

Overall, I took away some pertinent information that I will use in the future. Thanks for continuing to read my blogs through this semester and I hope you learned a few new things from them as well!

Cool Tool #2- Emaze

The Cool Tool that I chose to review for this week is Emaze . Emaze is the next generation of PowerPoint presentation that expands to offer a creation tool to the social hubs such as website design , blogs, ecards, and photo albums. With Emaze you are able to add media, GIFs, and live social feeds. Some features that Emaze has is that it is easy to share content anywhere and monitor who is watching. It is also easy to use , has front-line designs and be used on more than one device. Along with that Emaze has language support and is cloud based so you are able to save on your cloud. You can also upload an existing PowerPoint and make changes from there OR you can create your own from scratch. Something else that is nice is that students can use their Google account information to create an Emaze, which means that they will not have to memorize new information.  Emaze could be used in the classroom for presentation purposes both for teachers and students. For teachers this could

Cool Tool #1 Bitmoji

My original cool tool that I was going to review was Bitstrips, but unfortunately for me those have been replaced with Bitmoji, so instead of reviewing Bitstrips I will be reviewing Bitmoji. Bitmoji is your own, personal, emoji. It is a cartoonish version of yourself that can be really be used anywhere! It can be integrated with Facebook, Facebook messenger, gmail, snapchat, text or anything using google. This app is very user friendly and can be downloaded onto your computer using chrome or on your phone (Apple or Android). Once you download Bitmoji, you create your personal avatar and go from there. What makes this so easy is that all you have to do is make the avatar look like you and BAM you are done and let the fun begin! With that, I do not think that students will face any challenges using this piece of technology. The challenge that I do see happening is how teachers could use this tool in a classroom (when it comes to being educational) because there are not

On My Honor, Being a Digital Citizen

For the most part, digital citizenship for me, reflects both my personal and professional life equally. I would never post or say anything online that I would not do in person. With that being said, I have never (purposefully) posted anything to hurt someone's feelings because I know how it feels and do not want anyone else to feel that way. If I have posted anything embarrassing of one of my friends, they have never asked me to take it down and if they have I would have no problem doing it. There have been plenty of pictures from high school that my friends have tagged me in that I have asked for them to take down, not because I was doing anything bad, but the picture was just plain embarrassing! (usually me dancing at a dance or being silly). As an adult and now looking back at it I can laugh and think to myself "why was I so weird" or "why did my friends hangout with me!?" Although my picture that I am tagged in are just harmless fun like dancing or
